Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 slices white bread
  • 2 tablespoons raisins
  • cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Break eggs into a 1-quart Pyrex baking dish.
  2. Beat until frothy. Add sugar and vanilla, then beat again.
  3. Add milk slowly, beating until well blended.
  4. Break bread into 8 to 12 pieces and press them into the egg mixture with a fork.
  5. Let the bread soak for a little while.
  6. Stir in raisins.
  7. Sprinkle the mixture lightly with cinnamon.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes, until set, puffy, and golden.
  9. Eat while warm.
