- Combine cherry syrup, brown sugar, orange juice, and cloves in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Set the cherry glaze aside.
- Make shallow diamond-shaped cuts in the roast and brush with the cherry mixture.
- Secure orange slices and cherries on the roast with wooden picks.
- Brush the fruit with the cherry mixture.
- Cover and bake the roast for an additional 30 minutes, brushing every 10 minutes with remaining cherry mixture.
