Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup black walnuts
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Boil sugar, milk, soda, and butter until it foams a soft-ball in cold water.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Add black walnuts and vanilla. Beat until creamy.
  4. Pour into a buttered pan or dish and cool before cutting into squares.
