Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
  • 3 teaspoons Tang
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream together the sugar and Crisco.
  2. Add eggs to the mixture and beat well.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, Tang, sugar) and mix into the wet mixture.
  4. Press three-fourths of the dough into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  5. In a saucepan, mix crushed pineapple, Tang, sugar, cornstarch, and nuts.
  6. Cook the mixture until it thickens.
  7. Spread the pineapple filling evenly over the pressed dough in the pan.
  8. Drop the remaining dough in spots over the filling.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 27 minutes until golden.
