Ingredients

  • day-old bread
  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 large cloves garlic

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the garlic lengthwise, then place in olive oil and let sit overnight.
  2. Cut bread into cubes of 1/2 to 3/4 inch six hours before serving, aiming for at least 4 cups of bread cubes.
  3. Place bread cubes on a cookie sheet and dribble with half of the garlic-infused olive oil until coated.
  4. Bake at 225°F for 3 to 4 hours until golden brown.
  5. If not sufficiently golden, turn the oven to 275°F and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool.
