Boiled Pot Roast

Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 lb. round bone or English cut roast
  • 5 or 6 large potatoes
  • 8 to 10 carrots
  • 4 to 5 oz. soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. minced onion
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 pkg. frozen peas or green beans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut roast into 4 or 5 pieces.
  2. Place in Dutch oven or large soup pot.
  3. Cover with cold water and add soy sauce, onion, pepper and garlic powder.
  4. Cover and cook on medium-low heat.
  5. After 3 hours, peel carrots.
  6. Cut into 2 to 3 pieces.
  7. Add to pot; stir and re-cover.
  8. After another 30 minutes, peel and quarter potatoes. Add to pot and re-cover.
  9. After 1 1/4 hours, add optional frozen vegetables.
  10. Cook 15 minutes more.
  11. Scoop onto platter and serve with fresh bread or rolls.
  12. Serves 6 to 8.
