Ingredients

  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup green onion bottoms, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1 cup bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 1 (10 oz.) package green peas, unthawed
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 (2 oz.) package Hidden Valley salad dressing, dry

Instructions

  1. In a flat 13 x 9-inch glass dish, place the shredded iceberg lettuce as the first layer and press down.
  2. Spread the chopped green onion bottoms evenly over the lettuce layer.
  3. Add the finely chopped celery on top of the green onions and press down.
  4. Spread the finely chopped bell pepper over the celery and press down.
  5. Drain and chop the water chestnuts, then layer them over the bell pepper.
  6. Spread the green peas evenly over the water chestnuts.
  7. In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise with the dry Hidden Valley salad dressing until well combined.
  8. Spread the mayonnaise mixture over the peas layer.
  9. Sprinkle the dry Hidden Valley salad dressing evenly over the mayonnaise layer.
  10. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight before serving.
