Ingredients

  • 8 slices white bread
  • 2 oz dried fruit
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Butter a glass baking dish.
  2. Cut the buttered bread into triangles and mix the dried fruit with sugar.
  3. Arrange the buttered bread, dried fruit, and sugar in layers in the dish.
  4. Beat the eggs with milk, then pour the mixture over the layered bread, fruit, and sugar.
  5. Allow the dish to soak for 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the custard is set and the top is lightly browned.
