Ingredients

  • 3 cups soft bread crumbs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Put bread crumbs in a 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
  2. Blend the warm milk, butter, sugar, eggs, salt, cinnamon, and raisins until well combined.
  3. Pour the mixture over the bread crumbs in the baking dish.
  4. Place the baking dish in an oblong cake pan filled with 1 inch of warm water.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until a knife inserted comes out clean, about 40 to 45 minutes.
  6. Serve warm, optionally with sauce.
