A hearty baked casserole combining tender broccoli, lima beans, creamy mushroom sauce, crunchy rice topping, and sliced water chestnuts for a flavorful family-friendly dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. frozen chopped broccoli
  • 1 pkg. frozen fordhook lima beans
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 pkg. dried onion soup
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 stick butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Cook the frozen chopped broccoli and frozen lima beans until crispy tender.
  2. In a bowl, blend together the sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, and dried onion soup mix.
  3. Fold the blended sauce into the cooked vegetables and pour the mixture into a buttered baking dish.
  4. Push the sliced water chestnuts down into the mixture edgewise.
  5. Top the casserole with Rice Krispies that have been browned in butter.
  6. Cover loosely with foil and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.
