Broiled Prawns

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. 16-20 prawns
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 tbsp. butter at room temperature
  • 6 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tsp anise seed
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp parsley
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1) butterfly shrimp by cutting 1/2 inch into back with paring knife
  2. 2) brine in 1 quart water + 1/4 cup table salt
  3. 3) dry with paper towels
  4. 4) combine other ingredients
  5. 5) marinate prawns in the other ingredients
  6. 6) place wire rack over baking sheet
  7. 7) broil two minutes per side
