Ingredients

  • 3 large onions
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 c. beef broth

Instructions

  1. Fry the onions in butter and a dash of sugar until they turn a nice brown color.
  2. Thicken the mixture slightly with flour, then add enough beef broth to create a thick sauce.
  3. Season with cayenne or black pepper, then rub the sauce through a sieve before serving.
