Tips & Substitutions

For the best flavor, slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips. If you don't have flank steak, sirloin or ribeye can work as substitutes. Adjust the sugar based on your taste preference; brown sugar can add a richer flavor. If you like a bit of heat, consider adding a dash of gochujang to the marinade. This dish pairs beautifully with rice or can be served in lettuce wraps for a fresh touch.

Serving Suggestions

Serve bulgogi over steamed rice or with a side of kimchi for a classic Korean meal. It also pairs well with a light salad or pickled vegetables to balance the richness. For a fun twist, consider using it as a filling for tacos or lettuce wraps. You can also browse more beef recipes for additional meal ideas.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover bulgogi in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, use a skillet over medium heat to warm it up gently, adding a splash of water or broth to keep it moist. You can also microwave it in short intervals, stirring in between, to ensure even heating without drying it out.
