Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. egg noodles
  • 1 onion
  • butter
  • bacon grease

Instructions

  1. Cook the egg noodles in a Dutch oven until al dente, then drain.
  2. While noodles are cooking, chop the cabbage and onion.
  3. In the same Dutch oven, add butter, bacon grease, and/or bacon to the bottom of the pan and melt.
  4. Add the chopped cabbage and onion to the pan.
  5. Cover and cook on low heat until the cabbage becomes transparent, about 15-20 minutes.
  6. When the cabbage is done, stir in the cooked noodles and heat through before serving.
