Ingredients

  • 1 small to medium head of cabbage
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 3 large onions
  • 7/8 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 1 c. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Shred the cabbage and slice the onions.
  2. In a large jar, layer the shredded cabbage and onion slices until all are used.
  3. Pour 7/8 cup sugar over the layered vegetables.
  4. Add the dry mustard, salt, celery seed, and vinegar to the jar.
  5. Mix or shake well to combine all ingredients.
  6. Let the slaw sit for at least a few hours to allow flavors to meld before serving.
