Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 3 slices white bread
  • margarine
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook cabbage in a small amount of water with salt until tender; drain.
  2. Spread margarine on bread slices.
  3. Combine eggs and milk; soak bread in the egg mixture until soft.
  4. Add cooked cabbage, shredded Cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 2-quart casserole.
