- In a saucepan, combine the Carnation milk, margarine, white sugar, and unsweetened chocolate.
- Cook until a soft ball forms when tested in a cup, stirring often.
- Remove from heat, place the pan in cold water, and stir until the mixture is cold.
- Add vanilla and nuts to the chocolate mixture.
- Pour the chocolate mixture over the frozen ice cream in the pie shell.
- Return the pie to the freezer and freeze until firm before serving.
