Ingredients

  • 1 Oreo cookie pie shell
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream
  • 1 small can Carnation milk
  • 2/3 stick margarine
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts

Instructions

  1. Soften the vanilla ice cream and pack it into the Oreo cookie pie shell. Smooth out the top and place in the freezer.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the Carnation milk, margarine, white sugar, and unsweetened chocolate.
  3. Cook until a soft ball forms when tested in a cup, stirring often.
  4. Remove from heat, place the pan in cold water, and stir until the mixture is cold.
  5. Add vanilla and nuts to the chocolate mixture.
  6. Pour the chocolate mixture over the frozen ice cream in the pie shell.
  7. Return the pie to the freezer and freeze until firm before serving.
