Callas are delicate, sweet pastries with a crispy exterior and soft interior, filled with flavored whipped cream and decorated with maraschino cherries, perfect for elegant desserts.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp cold water
  • whipped cream
  • maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs slightly; add sugar, flour, and baking powder.
  2. Add cold water; beat for 3 minutes.
  3. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a greased and floured tin.
  4. Bake until light brown.
  5. While still hot, roll into the shape of a cornucopia and tie with string to keep shape.
  6. When cold, fill with sweetened and flavored whipped cream.
  7. Decorate with maraschino cherries.
