Ingredients

  • 1 box brown sugar
  • 1 (6 oz.) can evaporated milk
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and a pinch of salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Cook until the mixture reaches soft-ball stage, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  4. Vigorously beat the mixture until it loses its gloss and becomes thickened.
  5. Stir in pecan halves.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto waxed paper and let cool until set.
