- Stir white sugar, Karo syrup, salt, and 1/2 cup of whipping cream constantly in a large pan until it boils.
- Add the other 1/2 cup of whipping cream and keep stirring on medium heat.
- Boil until a few drops in a cup of cold water form a firm ball.
- Remove from burner, add vanilla, and pour into a buttered Pyrex pie plate.
- When almost cool, cut into pieces.
