Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. margarine
  • 5 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 5 c. water
  • 1 tsp. caraway seed
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Put caraway seed into the water and bring to a boil. Simmer slowly for about 5 minutes and set aside.
  2. Melt margarine in a pan; add flour and brown lightly while stirring.
  3. Keep stirring to avoid burning.
  4. Remove from heat and add paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Strain the water into the paprika mixture, stirring constantly.
  6. Return to heat and simmer slowly for about 10 minutes.
  7. Serve with egg drops, or with eggless pasta or noodles.
