Cheerio Snacks are sweet, nutty treats with a crunchy texture, perfect for snacking or sharing at gatherings. They combine Cheerios with nuts and a caramel-like coating.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 6 cups Cheerios
  • 1 cup unsalted peanuts
  • 1 cup broken pecans

Instructions

  1. Cook margarine and brown sugar until syrupy in a saucepan.
  2. Add Cheerios, unsalted peanuts, and broken pecans; mix all together well.
  3. Grease a large cookie sheet.
  4. Spread the mixture on the cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes.
  6. Oil another large cookie sheet and immediately pour the mixture onto it.
  7. Cool at room temperature.
  8. Store in an airtight container.
