Cheese Kolacky is a rich, buttery pastry filled with sweet cheese, perfect for holidays or gatherings, combining creamy filling with tender, flaky dough.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb butter or margarine
  • 2 large packages (8 oz each) cream cheese
  • 4 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter or margarine in a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix in one package of cream cheese at a time until well combined.
  3. Add the flour gradually and mix until the mixture pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  4. Cover the dough with waxed paper and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Roll small portions of dough in a cool place on powdered sugar until about 1/8 inch thick.
  6. Cut the dough into squares or rounds.
  7. Fill each with your preferred filling, such as canned Solo fillings.
  8. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 10 to 15 minutes until lightly golden.
