Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb whipped margarine
  • 2 2/3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon butter flavoring

Instructions

  1. Beat whipped margarine and Crisco until light and creamy.
  2. Add sugar and beat until creamy.
  3. Add flour alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Mix in vanilla flavoring and butter flavoring until well combined.
  6. Pour batter into four 9-inch cake pans.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
  8. Cool the cakes before frosting.
