Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Cream the margarine and sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
  3. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add flour to the mixture.
  5. Save 1 cup of batter aside.
  6. Pour the remaining batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
  7. Spread cherry pie filling over the batter.
  8. Drop the reserved batter over the cherry filling.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 minutes.
