Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 1 pkg. (3 3/4 oz.) instant chocolate pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1/2 c. cooking oil
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. rum
  • 1 pkg. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine the yellow cake mix, instant chocolate pudding, eggs, sour cream, cooking oil, vanilla, and rum (if using).
  3. Beat the mixture for 5 minutes until the batter is stiff.
  4. Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
  5. Spoon the batter into a greased and floured 2-quart Bundt pan.
  6. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  8. Turn out the cake and serve warm or cold, plain or with vanilla ice cream.
