Ingredients

  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. flavoring
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 4 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, eggs, milk, lemon juice, and flavoring.
  2. Beat well until smooth and well mixed.
  3. Add melted margarine slowly, beating until thoroughly combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into an unbaked 9-inch pie shell.
  5. Wrap strips of aluminum foil around the edges of the crust to prevent burning.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 45 to 50 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and cool before serving.
  8. Serve warm or cold, plain or with ice cream or whipped cream.
