Chicken Korma

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. chicken pieces
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp. garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/4 c. cooking oil
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. cardamom
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. raisins

Instructions

  1. In a large kettle, saute onion and garlic in oil and butter. Add ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and salt.
  2. Stir 1 minute.
  3. Add chicken and brown.
  4. Stir in sour cream.
  5. Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  6. Then cover and cook on low heat for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Add raisins and lemon juice.
  7. Cook for 10 more minutes.
  8. Serve over cooked rice.
