Ingredients

  • 3 whole chicken breasts
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Simmer chicken breasts about 1 hour in a covered pan with celery salt, lemon juice, and about 1 1/2 cups water.
  2. When tender, drain and reserve the broth; remove skin and bones from the chicken.
  3. Chop the cooked chicken into large pieces.
  4. In an 11 x 7-inch baking dish, pour the cream of chicken soup and thin with 1/2 cup of the reserved broth.
  5. Season the mixture with salt and pepper, then stir in the chopped chicken.
  6. Unroll the Pillsbury crescent dinner rolls and place them on top of the filling without separating.
  7. Bake at 375°F until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling, about 20 to 30 minutes.
