Ingredients

  • 1 chicken (fryer)
  • 1/2 kilo pork (1.1 lb.)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 6 peppercorns, crushed
  • 1/2 cup oil or pork lard

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken and pork into serving pieces.
  2. Put the meat in a cooking dish and add soy sauce, vinegar, water, crushed garlic, bay leaf, crushed peppercorns, and salt. Cover and bring to a boil.
  3. Lower the heat and cook slowly until the meat is almost tender.
  4. Add salt and oil or pork lard.
  5. Continue cooking uncovered, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching.
  6. Remove from heat when chicken and pork are tender and browned.
