Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. won ton wrappers
  • 1/2 lb. raw fish cake
  • 1 lb. ground chicken
  • 1 small can water chestnuts
  • 1/4 cup black mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup green onion
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch with warm water

Instructions

  1. Mix fish cake and ground chicken in a bowl.
  2. Add finely diced water chestnuts, mushrooms, and green onions to the mixture.
  3. Add oyster sauce, sugar, egg, salt, and cornstarch with warm water to the mixture.
  4. Mix the filling well until evenly combined.
  5. Place a spoonful of filling onto each won ton wrapper.
  6. Squeeze up the sides of the wrapper, shaping the siu mai in your hand.
  7. Arrange the siu mai upright in a steamer.
  8. Steam for 30 minutes until cooked thoroughly.
  9. Enjoy hot.
