Chile Canapes

Creamy, cheesy chile canapes with a spicy kick, perfect for appetizers or parties. They combine tangy chiles, sharp cheddar, and a fluffy egg batter for a savory treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 (4 oz.) cans diced Ortega chiles
  • 1 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup Bisquick

Instructions

  1. Spread the diced Ortega chiles in the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Spread grated Cheddar cheese over the chiles.
  3. In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, salt, and Bisquick until smooth.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the chiles and cheese in the pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
  6. Allow to cool slightly, then cut into squares.
  7. Serve warm.
