- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Melt butter in a 9-inch square baking pan.
- Stir in chocolate wafer crumbs and 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
- Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the pan to form a crust.
- In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, cocoa powder, egg, and vanilla at medium speed until smooth.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust.
- Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Let stand at room temperature for 2 hours.
- Cut into 1-inch squares.
- Store covered in the refrigerator.
