Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 1 c. brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 c. butter
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 2/3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. water

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375°.
  2. Mix thoroughly first 6 ingredients.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  4. Drop dough into greased muffin pans. Fill 1/2 to 2/3 full.
  5. Bake 15 to 18 minutes.
  6. Let cool a few minutes before removing from pan.
  7. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
