Ingredients

  • cake mix
  • brown sugar
  • chocolate chips
  • butter

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in microwave or on stove.
  2. Add brown sugar and stir well.
  3. Pour butter and brown sugar mixture into a well-greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
  4. Sprinkle generously with chocolate chips over the brown sugar mixture.
  5. Mix cake mix according to package directions.
  6. Pour the cake batter over the chocolate chips in the pan.
  7. Bake according to package directions until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the sides are pulling away from the pan.
  8. Remove from oven and let set for a few minutes.
  9. Invert the pan onto a serving dish to release the cake.
  10. Elevate the cake pan slightly, allowing the icing to settle on the cake.
  11. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.
