Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/3 c. baking cocoa
  • 2 Tbsp. light cream
  • 2 c. (one 12 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chunks
  • 1 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In another large bowl, with an electric mixer, cream together the butter and sugars; add the vanilla and mix well.
  4. Add the cocoa and beat until well blended. Add the cream and, on low speed, gradually add the flour mixture; beat until mixed.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chunks and nuts, if using.
