Chocolate Date Bread

Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour, sifted
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. chopped dates
  • 2 c. strong coffee
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°.
  2. Grease and flour 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan. In large bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
  3. Add dates and chocolate.
  4. Blend together well.
  5. Stir in coffee, soda, eggs and vegetable oil.
  6. Pour into greased pan.
  7. Bake for 1 hour in a 375° oven.
