Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 3 heaping Tbsp. flour
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. boiling water

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, cocoa, and flour in a bowl.
  2. Add milk and mix until smooth.
  3. Beat in egg yolks until well combined.
  4. Pour in boiling water and mix thoroughly.
  5. Cook the mixture over medium heat until thickened.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool.
  7. Pour the chocolate filling into a baked pie shell.
  8. Top with meringue and brown in the oven.
