Chocolate Prune Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. chocolate
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 Tbsp. warm milk taken from 1 c. of milk
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 jar stewed prunes, drained

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar well.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time.
  3. Sift flour, chocolate and cinnamon together.
  4. Add alternately with milk. Add prunes and beat well.
  5. Add soda.
  6. Bake in 350° oven (for two 9-inch round pans, bake for 25 minutes or for 9 x 13-inch pan bake for about 45 minutes).
  7. Save about 4 prunes for frosting.
