Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup chocolate syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Sift flour and baking soda together.
  4. Add alternately with chocolate syrup to the creamed mixture.
  5. Blend in vanilla and chopped nuts.
  6. Pour into a greased and floured 9-inch square pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 to 45 minutes.
