Decadent Choconut Caramel Bars combine smooth milk chocolate, creamy caramel, and crunchy walnuts for a rich treat perfect for sharing or satisfying sweet cravings.

Ingredients

  • 11-1/2 oz. pkg. Nestle milk chocolate morsels
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 30 vanilla caramels
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate chips and shortening until smooth.
  2. Pour half of the melted mixture into an 8-inch foil-lined square pan and spread evenly.
  3. Refrigerate until the chocolate layer is firm, about 15 minutes.
  4. Melt the caramel candies, butter, and water until smooth.
  5. Stir in the chopped walnuts until well blended.
  6. Pour the caramel mixture over the chocolate layer in the pan.
  7. Spread evenly and refrigerate until the caramel is tacky, about 15 minutes.
  8. Top with the remaining melted chocolate, re-heating if necessary, and spread evenly to cover the caramel filling.
  9. Return to the refrigerator and chill until firm, about 1 hour.
  10. Cut into 1 by 2-inch rectangles and keep refrigerated.
