Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage
  • 12 green tomatoes
  • 1 or 2 red peppers
  • 1 or 2 green peppers
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1 quart red cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 3 tablespoons allspice

Instructions

  1. Use an old hand grinder or food processor to grind cabbage, tomatoes, and peppers together.
  2. Mix sugar, vinegar, and spices in a saucepan; bring to a boil for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the cabbage mixture and bring to a boil again.
  4. Cook for about 3 to 5 minutes.
  5. Pour into pint jars and seal.
