Ingredients

  • 3 oz. package cherry jello
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1/4 c. cinnamon red hots
  • 1 c. cold evaporated milk
  • 1 c. pared and diced eating apples
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 c. miniature marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Add boiling water to the gelatin and cinnamon red hots.
  2. Stir until all are dissolved.
  3. Chill until the gelatin is almost set.
  4. Whip the thickened gelatin at low speed of an electric mixer for a few seconds.
  5. Gradually beat in the cold evaporated milk.
  6. Turn the mixer speed to high and whip until the gelatin mixture is double in volume.
  7. Fold in the diced apples, marshmallows, and chopped walnuts lightly but thoroughly.
  8. Turn the mixture into a lightly oiled 5-cup mold.
  9. Chill until firm, about 4 to 5 hours.
