Tips & Substitutions

For a deeper flavor, consider marinating the chicken overnight. If you don't have evaporated milk, you can substitute it with a mixture of regular milk and cream. Adding a splash of lemon juice to the marinade can enhance the taste. Make sure to keep an eye on the broiler to prevent burning, as cooking times can vary.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this delicious broiled chicken with fluffy rice, green peas, and a refreshing shredded carrot salad for a balanced meal. For a comforting twist, you can also pair it with George'S Favorite Sausage And Lentil Soup. A glass of chilled white wine complements this dish beautifully.

Storage & Reheating

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place the chicken in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes or until warmed through. Avoid using the microwave, as it can make the chicken rubbery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use other cuts of chicken for this recipe?

Absolutely! While chicken quarters give great flavor and juiciness, you can also use bone-in thighs or breasts. Just adjust the cooking time as needed, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

What can I do with leftover chicken?

Leftover broiled chicken can be shredded and added to salads, wraps, or even soups. It works well in recipes like Stuffed Chicken Quarters, or you can simply reheat it and serve it over pasta for a quick meal.

Is there a vegetarian alternative to this recipe?

For a vegetarian option, you can substitute chicken with hearty vegetables like portobello mushrooms or eggplant. Marinate them similarly and broil until tender. This method brings out their natural flavors, making an excellent dish that pairs wonderfully with rice and salad.
