Classic Red Beans

Instructions
- Wash beans in a strainer and discard any grit or discolored beans.
- Put beans and the rest of the ingredients in an 8-quart pot.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cover and reduce heat to simmer.
- Stirring often, cook beans about 2 1/2 hours or until beans are tender and creamy.
- Serve over fluffy long grain rice.
- You can also put a good dollop of sour cream on top of your serving of red beans and rice.
- It's delicious!
