Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 5 2/3 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 (16 oz.) package flaked coconut
  • 1 pound chopped pecans
  • 3 ounces paraffin
  • 1 1/2 pounds semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat but do not allow to brown.
  2. Whisk in the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Add the confectioners sugar, flaked coconut, and chopped pecans to the mixture.
  4. Mix quickly; you will have to use your hands to incorporate everything thoroughly.
  5. Coat a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with vegetable spray.
  6. Transfer the candy mixture to the pan and pat it in place firmly, smoothing the surface evenly with your palm.
  7. Cover the pan and store in the coldest part of your refrigerator overnight.
