Ingredients

  • 1 pint sour milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • flour to make a stiff dough

Instructions

  1. Roll out the dough and cut into squares.
  2. Place a small, quartered apple in the center of each square.
  3. Pinch the dough all around the apple to seal it tightly.
  4. Drop the wrapped dumplings into boiling water.
  5. Let them boil for half an hour.
  6. Remove the dumplings and serve hot, with sugar and cream.
