Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 c. shortening

Instructions

  1. Sift sugar, baking powder, salt, and vanilla into a medium bowl.
  2. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
  3. Add eggs and mix with a fork until the dough holds together and becomes smooth.
  4. Mix with hands until well combined.
  5. Wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate overnight.
