Ingredients

  • 5 to 6 cups flour
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup softened margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 cups of flour, dry yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Stir well to blend.
  3. Add softened margarine.
  4. Add hot water to the bowl all at once.
  5. Beat with an electric mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl.
  6. Add eggs and 1 cup of additional flour.
  7. Beat with the mixer at high speed for 1 minute or until thick and elastic.
  8. Add enough remaining flour until the dough leaves the sides of the bowl.
  9. Knead for 5 to 10 minutes.
  10. Cover and let rest for 20 minutes. Punch down.
  11. Shape and refrigerate for 2 to 24 hours.
  12. Remove from refrigerator and let stand for 10 minutes.
  13. Bake at 350° to 375°F for 20 minutes.
