Cordon Bleu features tender chicken stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese, breaded, fried, and baked in a creamy soup and wine sauce for a rich, comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • chicken breast
  • 1/2 slice thin ham
  • 1 slice Swiss cheese
  • cream of chicken soup
  • cooking wine

Instructions

  1. Pound the chicken breast to an even thickness.
  2. Place half a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on the pounded chicken.
  3. Roll the chicken around the fillings and fasten with toothpicks.
  4. Fry the rolled chicken in hot fat until browned.
  5. Place the fried chicken in a casserole dish.
  6. Pour cream of chicken soup and cooking wine over the chicken.
  7. Bake about 1 hour until cooked through and tender.
